Sen. Slatter, who we’ve endorsed every time she’s run for the Legislature, is running to retain the Senate seat she was appointed to following former Sen. Patty Kuderer’s election to WA Insurance Commissioner. Retain Sen. Slatter!
Sen. Slatter worked closely with us on expanding and supporting our union’s Multi-Employer Training Fund with State investment
She’s stood with us in some of our toughest fights, like Safe Staffing and, most recently, protecting our State bargained contracts and protecting our State budget from austerity cuts. That’s why we’re proud to endorse her for State Senate.
Rep. Salahuddin is new to the legislature, appointed to fill the vacancy left by Sen. Slatter moving to the Senate.
Osman is currently a State Representative for the 48th Legislative District, representing the parts of Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, and all of Clyde Hill, Medina, Yarrow Point, and Hunts Point.
He was raised in Redmond, where he has spent nearly his entire life. He completed his K-12 education in the Lake Washington School District public schools.
His drive to serve his community is rooted in his parents’ journey immigrating to the United States in hopes of living out the American Dream. They taught him the importance of pursuing your dreams while inspiring and supporting others to do the same.
His mother has dedicated 20 years as a union-represented special education preschool paraeducator, while his father is a 35+ year small business owner. When hate surged during Trump’s first term, Osman was inspired by his parents’ resilience to stand up for the values that protect everyone.
